plate removal

going in for A spinal fusion plate removal. I had three discs replaced but have breathing problems and seems a screw has backed out so my surgeon is going to remove that plate. has any one had this done and is it a long healing process?

    Broken screws and plate backing out against my esophagus. For me it was a hard recovery, He had to break out all the old fusions of c3-c7 and redo because they never healed right because of the broken hardware. Ive heard of people that has hardware removed and feel better so it could go either way, Good luck and keep us posted
