Housebound and down

Hi all. I'm in the midst of PT and pain management for l4 l5 compression. I'm on medical !eave and can barely leave the house due to either severe pain or side effects from the medication. I used to be so active and feel useless and even guilty for my condition. It looks like surgery is inevitable to alleviate the nerve compression they also found a benign tumor on l3. Praying for everyone here

  • Hi Christiben,
How long have you been doing PT for ? I know the feeling of guilt and all that comes with pain issues. And it is very very hard to accept.
I guess I wasted so many days, months, years missing the old me. But once you let if all go, it will be less stressful. Sure there are so many days I cry, I scream and getting it out is good.
I try to embrace the days that are not putting me in bed from the leg pain or spasms.
For me I just decided I have to keep moving even if the pains bad. I have crap lungs so I have to make myself move and when I do I feel at least I didn't stay in bed all day.
I miss the type of work I use to do, I loved talking to other people about home decor and just going to my job was fun.
I found for me I have to keep working even if its on my computer, just keep your mind on anything you can.
Here's a perfect place to help others even if its just a kind word, or sharing your story helps.
So tell me how did you come to find Spine-Health? When did all your issues (pain) start?
    Keep on praying
    Mary Sullivan
