My surgery- spinal cord compression was done almost 2 years ago and a Titanium plate was placed at C5/C6, C6/C7. I am now 37 years old. I was perfectly fine after the surgery (no problems whatsoever) and joined in my work. Within the next 3-4 months of the surgery I had to go to Boston for some office work. The doctors never told me to avoid cold weather (it was freezing in Boston), and as a result I developed pain in my neck with numbness and tingling going down my left arm (right arm is fine). The pain shoots down the spinal cord but the worst is at the base of my neck. More importantly I had problems with my speech. I have read a lot about similar problems on this forum, but I cannot understand the speech problem I am facing.
I have since then visited many doctors including the ones who did the surgery(Neurosurgeon) but the medicines that they prescribed were of no use. For the last year and half I am having this problem.
I am thankful to finally find a forum and hear about others that are experiencing a similar issue.
I do not know anyone who has had this happen to them and being alone in this has made things difficult. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations anyone may have.
