Recovery from ACDF C4-7

I had surgery last week, anterior cervical discetomy and fusion and have been in extreme pain, with trouble swallowing, and losing my voice. My surgeon said everything went great! But today, out of nowhere, I was told that I need to purchase a SpinalLogic Bone Growth Stimulator, which costs around $5200.00, with me paying around 1200.00 out of pocket. I am more of a natural kinda guy, and have been eating right with a lot protein, taking calcium, and vitamin D. And when stronger, I plan on returning to yoga, walking, physical therapy, and acupuncture.

Somehow today, someone showed up and sold me this machine. After spending several hours researching this particular machine, and bone growth stimulators in general, I believe I have wasted my money. In fact, I also found out the one that I purchased was for the lumbar! I have two spine specialists, and this one doesn't seem to communicate very well. I worked in healthcare before my spine injuries, and have been very fortunate to have some awesome, compassionate, healthcare providers.

I am grateful that I found this forum! And, wondering if anyone has any advice, or information they can provide about these machines. When I am healed, I will be having another surgery on my lumbar. I researched the 3 surgeons that I had access to. And, this one appeared to be the most educated and qualified. I really do not understand his arrogance, and lack of empathy.

I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has any knowledge of these machines. As I plan on contacting Medicare and telling them I do not want it, and not to pay for it. I haven't used it yet because it has a limited amount of times it works. So please, if anyone can give me some advice, I will greatly appreciate it!!

In advance, I sincerely thank-you.

Best to everyone!!
