Problems with Nerve Burning in Neck

I am needing to know if any one else has experienced anything like this. Two weeks ago I went through having my nerves "burned" on my right side. I wasn't expecting it to be as painful as it was but I got thru it with some minor swelling on my neck and being uncomfortable for several days. I went back Tues. Exactly one week later to have the left side of my neck done. I came home and did the typical ice treatments and rested with little activity. Yesterday I woke up and my face was a little swollen and my left arm was hard to use. Just basically limp. I had no strength in it at all. Now its Thur. My face is considerably more swollen and painful. My arm is shooting pains down into it but my hand as usual has no strength in it. I am not sure if this is any way normal. I usually take 3 norcos a day if needed and these last 2 days they have more than needed and are not cutting the pain at all. It is now effecting my sleep and day to day activities. I did not experience anything like this last time when I had the right side down. Is this a reason to be concerned? I today have a pin and needle sensation down my left leg that I did not have yesterday. MY dr. relationship is relatively new so I don't want to jeopardize him dropping me as a patient because I'm a difficult case. If anyone has been thru this please let me know what steps u took for comfort. I appreciate it and thanks in advance.
R May
