congenital fusions

I have a congenital fusion of my L2&3 which has caused multiple other fusions, six in total throughout my lower spine and my lower thoracic spine. I have spoken to a rheumatologist and he feels as though it is not ankylosing spindolitis, that being said, with this fusions causing me the amount of pain that they are, has anyone had something like this happen to them, and is there corrective surgery for this problem?
