Please help me understand this all better....
About 5 months ago my so called "stiff neck" never got better. I thought that warranted a call to the doctor in which MRI findings showed 2 larger herniated cervical discs, severe spinal stenosis and cord compression. I was referred to a neurosurgeon who recommended a try at pt.
Two weeks into pt I started with numbness and weakness in my arm and foot so I called the dr who stopped the pt and recommended surgery. Of course I went for a second opinion.
Amazingly a few days before the appointment, the numbness disappeared. I reported this to the new doctor who then recommended a second go around at pt - this time without traction.
I am currently in week 2 of that pt and feel ok. Some arm/shoulder pain here and there and sometimes a heavy foot.
This all leads me to this question because I am totally sick of googling - can one just live forever with a compressed cord or am I wasting my time by putting surgery off.
Please anyone give me any kind of experience and input. I'm only 34 years old and I am
very scared! I have two small children and am terrified of the worst.
