Hi All - I'm new here and hope I've posted in the right place. Wonder if anyone else has had C4-5, C5-6, C6-7 ACDF w/ fusion and plating. I have been dx'd with DDD and spinal stenosis. I'm not really in pain unless I lift something a little heavy or look up for too long. I had had tingling in fingers, pain down palms/thumbs and weakness in hands previously, but that diminished after I fell this summer. Although my balance is off sometimes and I'm uncomfortable when at the computer, which is most of the day at work. (who ISN'T?) fingers also clumsy when typing.

I have been told by 2 Neurosurgeon and one Orthopedic surgeon that these discs taken care of sooner rather than later. I'm scheduled for surgery on 10/23 and sweating bullets reading posts from folks still pain months and even years out with single discectomy. Have you had the surgery I have mentioned? If so, what was your recovery process and how are you now pain and functionality-wise?

I'm intrigued with the good outcomes in Germany and other Euro countries with disc replacement using M6-C procedure. (http://www.spinalkinetics.com/en/patients/m6-c-artificial-cervical-disc/) and wonder if I should hold out until surgeons here get clearance to do multiple discs using this procedure.

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much.
