Well tomorrow is the day I see my nerosurgeon and the physical therapy begans, I had some really bad results, starting from my surgery which was a Laminectomies L4, L5, S1 L4 Gill procedure (discovered a crack in my spine) L4- L5 fusion with autograft and Allograft. Because of the crack in my spine my surgery lasted longer than expected, 5/1/2 hours. Now during that procedure I was told that I have a legion in my liver that need to be look at through a MRI, CT can pick up the legion and furture test need to be perform (WOW). I really need some positive reponse , please do not comment on any negative advice, I am not looking for that in my life. I am keeping a positive oulook but sometime this can be exremely heart breaking. I don't know if I can take another operation, and the pain I have endure since this procedure has been exhausting on me. I am a disable veteran who has suffered a lot, but I try to endure the endurable, I welcome all who wish me well. Thanks

    HI Ronald,
You are right that focusing on the positive is very important. I am sorry that you had such a difficult time with your operation. I had an L4L5 fusion August 21st and am doing ok thus far. Sometimes I think these boards can be scary and I stopped reading them a week or two before surgery just so I could stay positive.I also have rheumatoid arthritis and the meds I take for that affect my liver. I have never been told that I have any lesions on the liver but the blood work tends to have elevated enzymes. My rheumatologist wanted me to see a specialist to see if it was ok to continue treatment and biopsy was a possibility. I ended up having something called a fibroscan done. There are apparently only 6 machines like it n Canada so I was lucky to access one. It was kind of luck a hi tech ultrasound of the liver but different from any other ultrasound I have had done. My results were ok and I am allowed to continue with treatment and I was able to avoid the biopsy because of this machine. Hopefully your liver testing can be done quickly so you can put your mind at ease. You didn't mention when you had your surgery? I have not had my follow-up yet so no physio referral yet either.
  • Wishing you the best today and for the outcomes of the surgery and testing.
Don't worry, we will be here, waiting for you when you get back.
