Pars defect not healing?

I had surgery last year for a bilateral pars repair, it hasn't healed and now my surgeon is wanting to either do another pars repair or a fusion... Does anyone have any suggetion?
I'm in pain constantly but they refuse to give me anything for it, they say it's because of my age (25) I've been to both my surgeon and my primary doctor and they both say the same thing... What can I do?

I also applied for SSD in June, has anyone won their case for this? I also had tethered cord surgery when I was 14.
