Post Surgery Constipation

Fellow Spineys,

I know it will happen because I've never had a surgery where it didn't

Do any of you have good regimens or solution to relive constipation after surgery. Even joke posts would help. :D

  • fibrious vegetables, green leafy vegetables, prune juice, dates, and fiber supplements.
  • Post surgical i was a week constipated, and then the pain. I was on senikot I believe but did nothing, They do put stuff in you that brutally makes you constipated and then if your surgery is neck they put you on a liquid diet which doesn't help (which was my experience) . Ask your doc in advance how to help this is my best advice.

I was so desperate for a poo that I went to my neighbours house and took some from her kids who had troubles in the past. 2 days and I was dancing again (bowelly speaking)
However.... I was off of narcotics by then.. The hospital was terribly understaffed and I had forgotten to mention this on discharge. I was most worried about having enough drugs to get home in the car. A week later I saw my doc for the stitches but again.. I was in such a cloud....
I wouldn't normally take Street drugs. Lol

My cousin reminded me of a recipe that was given to me after my first surgery back in 2000. It was combustible. While I plan to start on a regimen of stool softeners and prunes, I thought I'd share this recipe.
