The short history is my husband had a 360 degree fusion on L4-S1 in 1997-no issues at all after surgery. Then in 2010 he was hurt at work and blew out his L3 and had surgery in Feb of 2011 with pins and rods, it has been a huge hot mess since then. The surgery failed, there was no bone growth, a second opinion told him that he would eventually need to have it removed, cleaned up and redone. Workers Comp wouldn't pay for it and we had a bad lawyer and we had no idea what we were doing. So here we are almost 4 years later. He was at work Friday and fell and is experiencing different pain than he normally does. Yesterday while walking around the grocery store, I thought we had a cart with a bad squeaky wheel.........not the cart! It was his back and it was coming from the site of his top hardware. I have never heard anyone squeak before, it was so weird. Please don't think I am crazy, you could hear it from like 10 feet away. Has anyone else experienced this? He is making an apt with an ortho tomorrow. We are wondering if his pins are finally starting to back out like we were warned.
