  • I can't be much help as I'm just 2.5 weeks post but I'm also, interested in knowing what some of the long term or permanent restrictions are in similar cases.

I have friends that have had cervical fusion, and they have no restrictions after they've healed from surgery. However, I haven't been so lucky with my fusion. My second fusion surgery was in March 2014. I am still having issues. I am now seeing a pain doctor & I'm back in therapy doing light stretches. He is still trying to work out my meds because I am having some side effects that are hard to live with. Right now I have a 5lb weight restriction. I'm hoping these new meds will start working so I can get my life back.
  • for each person, based on their personal conditions......the immediate and post surgical restrictions are generally the same but the long term prognosis and restrictions are based on your condition post op, and any other co-committent conditions problems that you may have.
It is best to ask your surgeon.
