I have been a good patient on meds for 5 years I failed a UT

  • but could afford to purchase drugs illegally, and bring them across the border from Mexico, you could also have chosen to talk to your doctor, about possibly changing you to something cheaper, or even contacting the companies who manufacture your medications about their prescription programs for those who have no insurance.
As far as the medications not being in your system, well that happens when you purchase illegal drugs . You have no idea if what you are getting is even the same thing, or close to it......and for heroin to show up in the testing, whatever you purchased had to contain some.
Retesting isn't going to help you , you took drugs not prescribed to you, didn't have the medications prescribed to you, and your doctor doesn't need your permission to drug test you. If you have been with the practice you already signed a consent form for random pill counts and drug tests as part of the new patient paperwork.
To answer your question, yes it can and likely will prevent another doctor from prescribing opiates to you.

  • I can only think of 2 things to try & I really don't know if either could work.

    1. You could throw yourself on the mercy of your PM. Be completely honest about everything. Explain how desperate you were & how you now know it was a reckless & illegal. Explain your new insurance situation. Say you are completely willing to show pharmacy receipts, random pill & urine tests. Basically beg for leniency.

    2. Explain everything to your GP & see if they are willing to phone around PM's that they deal with & see if they would be willing to give you a second chance.

There is a remote possibility that the reason for your dismissal hasn't made it into your medical records. I know someone who that has happened to. Their mistake didn't haunt them. That's very unlikely though.

I live with chronic pain. I have been in constant, unrelenting, brutal pain for well over 8 years. I know the absolute desperation. The torture, the depression, the frustrations etc etc etc. What you did really doesn't make sense to me. You were still going to your PM. I have no idea how much meds cost in Mexico but there are some pretty cheap ER & IR options available by legal prescription in America. Your PM must of been aware of your insurance issues, why didn't you ask him to get you the cheapest/best subsidized by manufacturer meds? Your PM can pull up a list of the prescriptions that you fill (or don't fill) every month so he was probably aware that you weren't filling your prescriptions before the urine test. PMs are being prosecuted, loosing their license, jobs & freedom in some cases. He can't be expected to turn a blind-eye to this.

I'm sorry. It must be incredibly stressful to be in this situation & the last thing you need is being lectured on the mistakes you've made. I know, sometimes the nightmares we bring on ourselves are even harder to deal with & haunt us the longest. I hope you find a way through this & luck is on your side. Living with chronic pain without the treatment & advise of specialists isn't something I'd wish on anyone.

  • I get 300 30mg oxycodone it worked for a few months only being able to afford the IM meds they still coasted around $370 at Walgreens was hurting for money after 4 months of paying full price she was cutting the RX in half and I was paying to get them out as I got paid but this month I couldn't afford to I had to fix my car it took a dive and I didn't get all my meds in Mexico just my Xanax because they are incredibly cheaper there I was getting morphine from my mom I did not think it would be a problem beings I have been prescribed morphine at one time or another I just was not going to get her pulled into it but I looked up online and as long as I didn't sign the release they can not tell my new dr the results and I feel after explaining I did not have insurance so I took morphine and I was also taking codeine cough syrup and after looking it up on how I could test for heroin It said plain and simple the mix can cause a false positive this place they use to test in the last 5 years of dropping had lost my UA 3 times and I had to test again after reading they can only say I failed my UA and I get to show him my perfect record and explain the situation that I took meds not mine because I was in pain and could not afford all my meds I see him nov 5 I honestly think you are right I will throw myself at him tell the truth because there is a reason I went 5 years with no mistakes because I use my meds as directed and have never been a doc shopper or fill early and seeing that due to HIPPA my old doc can not give out that test without my permission without it he will have to listen to the truth of the situation and believe me I am only blaming myself I did not think that this would happen of course and I am only a mer weeks from being back with insurance and can Be the model patient I have always been thanks for the help guys and know I deserve what you guys said I should not have risked my perfect pain management set up for one day of being not in pain because that's the other thing its not like I was using them all month it was a day I was in heavy pain and I was at family gathering where my mom was and gave me the morphine My problem will be the pharmacies filling for my new doc because she could tell them why I can no longer fill her RX so if they call my new doc I hope it doesn't ruin anything this was a bad mistake that wont happen again I swear on everything I love.id die without my meds so I pray everything goes well. prescribed to you, filling an old "script" out of state and you think that it won't show up? You want to hide your medical records and not have them released to a new pm but you want us to believe you are honest? Trustworthy?
You took morphine and codeine syrup to get through from another patient, your mother, which you also know is illegal and you bought xanax in Mexico and had it delivered, yet, you think that there isn't a problem?
I am going to tell you like it is, because someone has to........what you did is dangerous, illegal, and a crime......getting medications from someone else is a crime. You involved your mother in your illegal behavior and she should have known better than to give it to you.......shipping scheduled medications from another country into this one, is a crime, taking medications not currently prescribed to you, is a crime......attempting to fill a prescription that is no longer prescribed to you as part of your current medication regimine is a CRIME.....attempting to hide your medical records so you don't have to let a new doctor know is unethical, immoral and puts the new DOCTOR's license at risk.....
Just so you know, most doctor's want the records to come directly from the former doctors office, not from the patient simply so that attempts to hide compliance testing don't occur and the new offices won't see patients without the records from the previous doctors office......so even though you may have gotten the records prior to the testing results being typed up and added to them does not guarantee that you won't be held accountable....
We don't encourage people to lie to their doctors, by omission or co-mission nor do we encourage patients to cover up for their mistakes. The ONLY way to build a trusting relationship is by being honest with your doctor, about the good , bad and ugly, and not doing ANYTHING that might jeapordize that relationship.
