Multiple Herniated Discs in Cervical and Lumber Spine

I've just been diagnosed with 3 or 4 (having memory problems due side effects of the mixture of painkillers I'm on at the moment) herniated discs in my cervical spine and 2 or 3 in my lumber spine. The orthopedic surgeon explained that due to the extent of the problem and how long they've been there (24 yrs for cervical and about 15 yrs for my lumber spine as a result of a head on car collision) then they can't operate and even if he did he doesn't think it would be successful anyway.

My question is - has any had or treated multiple herniated discs? Everything that I read is about a single herniated disc.

Any information or advise would be really appreciated.

Thanks you
