Awful Nerve Pain after Spinal Fusion....follow link to original post

Hi All,

I am really new at this so apologies if this post is duplicated. I has a spinal fusion on the 13/08/14. I had been under my consultant for nearly two years. He was very thorough and operated only when there didnt seem like we had any other option.

I should point out that I fully agreed to the fusion I was aware of the risks and am fully aware that things can go wrong I just never thought it would happen to me. I went in with bad pain in my back and have come out with the most horrendous nerve pain in my leg. The leg keeps giving way which has meant i have fallen over several times. Sometimes the foot is so hypersensitive that I can't have it under the shower or have bed covers touch it. Othertimes i can't feel it and the worst times are when the nerves misfire.

If there is anyone out there that has had the same pain after a fusion I would be so grateful for any help or advice. I am a mother of two young children currently reliant on my family for everything. I am beginning to feel like I made a huge mistake.

It is against forum rules to duplicate posts..the reason for this is having multiple threads on the same subject can reduce the number of responses, plus it creates confusion for the rest of the member community. Members do not know which thread to respond to. Then in the end you may have a number of different responds in different threads. Any thread continuity is then lost.
