After 5 hour L5-S1 fusion developed bald patch in beard

Hi all I've never posted in a forum before but I couldn't find an answer anywhere. I've had three surgeries on the same disk the last of which was a fusion about a month ago. The pain is almost completely gone which makes my problem a minor one. I was in surgery for 5 hours and my face was resting in a harness the whole time. After the surgery my chin felt like I had been punched and it was cut up a little bit. Now I have a bald patch on the center of my chin the size of a silver dollar. I just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this and if it will eventually grow back. My facial hair grows fast so it's obvious even right after I shave around it. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply when I talked to the dr he told me it was from the harness. I had a full beard at the time then once I got home I shaved it off because I wanted the wound on my face to heal. But it has started to grow hair but very very slowly compared to the rest of the hair.
