Myelomalacia Is progressing

Just started yesterday, it"s getting terrible.

  • oxycotin, lyrica no drugs so far are helping
  • We keep telling you that you need specialists who are more familiar with your condition and treatment options.
I don't know what else we can suggest for you, other than to start looking for a specialist at the largest medical facility near your home........otherwise, there isn't anything that we can suggest for you.
  • It seems that u may be using this forum as a stage/platform for venting your fears and frustrations. Are you looking for someone to listen? Have you followed up with any of the advice you have been given thus far? How you explored the option of perhaps reading up on your condition? What do you mean that it is getting terrible? Perhaps some examples would help us to at least help you feel a bit better or to steer you in the right direction. If those meds are not working, it would be in your best interest to tell your Doctor ASAP so that he can make the necessary changes. Perhaps you need something a bit stronger and also a drug to sort of manage/regulate those ups and downs that you are going through (MS Contin time release is a good drug for this sort of thing). the idea is to manage your pain. Be strong and follow up with your Doctor.
Realize that FEAR is our worst enemy. Get up & get out in that stormy weather of the real world & kick fear in the teeth. Stare at it dead in the eyes & walk right through it into the storm; because once you're wet, you won’t fear the rain anymore
  • To be honest I'd never heard of Myelomalacia. I searched on the Internet but don't understand enough to advise. It seems to talk about surgical options a lot. If you want to vent about chronic pain I'm here for you. I know my life got better once I found knowledgable, compassionate specialists. I still know what it's like to be desperate & really low. I'm sorry Mike.

  • I just can't get any answers some tell me to exercise more others less because it might get worse" and once it gets worse its undoable Right now every muscle is tight.
  • I'm so sorry Mike. I know it's terrifying to not know what the future holds. Living with unrelenting pain is exhausting & frustrating. Sometimes I just want to hide under the covers & cry my heart out. Over the years I've been angry, frustrated, depressed, lost & broken but I've also found a strength & determination I didn't know I was capable of. I know how hard it is to muster the strength but it makes such a difference when you take control, push for answers & fight to manage your pain. I think the really low times are an inevitable & necessary part of the journey. Don't feel bad about it. Better times are ahead of you. It takes time to process everything & reach a kind of acceptance....it did for me anyway. I still find it a struggle at times.

  • How are you today Mike? Have you had any new input from your docs? Have you tried any new 'tricks' that help calm your pain? I'm having an Epsom salt daily bath week! It's turned really cold in Texas. They're threatening snow!!! Ugh!! Is your pain level effected by the weather?

    Stay strong!
