Upper Back and Spinal pain

A while ago, probably around the start of high school, i had a pretty bad fall on a skateboard. i had my grandmother look at it, and it hurt for a couple of weeks, but it eventually went away. As ive gotten older, the back pain keeps reoccurring, although not nearly as severe as the fall. however, it is painful to move around, and its giving me trouble sleeping. i also have an anxiety disorder, and my mother thinks its stress and tenseness, but ive tried massage and pain relievers and icy hot, and i cant take certain pain relievers and muscle relaxers due to the medication i take.
should i see a doctor/ make an appointment with a chiropractor?
any suggestions on what could help would be nice.
