Scar tissue

I had a discectomy in February this year and was progressing well until August when I started having shooting pain down my leg again. Turns out I have scar tissue in the area and around my s1 nerve root. I had a bulging disc (L5). So, I had an epidural steroid injection on Friday . Needless to say, I've been in terrible pain all weekend :(. Anyone have a similar experience? I know it'll be a week before I know if the injection worked or not, but I'm hoping it does! Any other suggestions for relief????
