This is my first post here. I've read a lot of different stories and figured I would share my own. I got injured at work a year and a half ago. I was passing a 7 foot plank down to my mate below me. I was bent over passing it down and as he grabbed it,I was still holding on to the plank and it jerked me forward and to the left. As soon as this happened I felt the sharpest pain ever in the left side of my back right below my ribs. This pain started here and spread out all over my back over the next few months. It just felt like sore strained muscles. After a few weeks I was sent to physical therapy. After about 3 months of physical therapy and no improvement,I was sent to an orthopedic. He sent me to get a MRI which showed a couple of buldging discs in my thoracic spine, one more prominent than the other. This was in the T7-T8 area. My ortho kept treating me for a strained back muscle and eventually sent me to a pain management doctor. That doctor sent me back to therapy which has not helped at all. He tried one trigger point injection which did not really work and my PT has tried dry needling on my back twice. This did not provide any relief. Over the last 5-6 months I have had extreme rib and stomach pain. It feels like the muscles in my stomach are constantly pulled or strained, and all of my ribs are really sore to touch back, side, and front. I have been on 4 anti inflammatories,a lidoderm patch, and Voltarin gel. None have provided any relief. I'm now on Gabapentin 300mg once or twice a day which provides some relief, but i can only take it at night because it makes me sleepy. I have a thoracic epidural scheduled a month from now. About 2 weeks ago I started feeling a burning sensation in my hands, leg, and foot. My doctor said this wouldn't be related to my thoracic spine injury but I have never had any feelings like this before. I also have pain in my arms up near my shoulder where it feels like someone has hit me and it is sore all the time. I have had numberous x rays that show everything is normal, and I've had an ultrasound that showed everything perfectly fine.ive also had 3 sets of blood work which all came back normal.ive also gone to the chiropractor 8 times and that has not provided any improvement at all. Anybody had a similar situation to this? I'm only 29 and I feel like if this epidural doesn't work I'm going to have back pain forever. The doctor said my bulging disc is not operable from what he saw on the MRI. Thanks for any responses I get on this.
