My Mri showed Mild disc bulge on L2-3 and mild degeneration on facet joint
on L3-4 Broad based disc bulge mild facet degeneration and mild central canal stenosis also mild inferior narrowing but both L3 nerve roots are normal
L4-5 mild bulge and degeneration facet
L5-SI mild to moderate degeneration change.
When I read the report it makes think I should not be in all the pain am. I had my nerve study which showed L5 nerve root is inflamed and same nerve damage only one grade from normal .Same as the study done 2 years ago.
I feel like the above shouldn't make me hurt the way I do. Recently I have had to stop working because of the nerve pain bilaterally and the low back pain that will not let up. I have had PT and I have been doing an elliptical for the last 5 months.
It makes me close to tears to do 30 minutes on a low setting. But I know I have to keep moving and trying to get heart rate up for cardio.
Am I nuts? 2 years ago my MRI only showed the arthritis and disc at L3-4 bulge. I am seeing a spine & pain Doctor that is awesome and have had 4 epidurals this year, 3 in the beginning of 2013 and a booster this past Sept.that helped with a lot of the rt leg nerve pain. I have had a couple of trigger point injections in low back and a couple of toradol injections. however my pain levels have stayed at no lower than 5 on low back but days at least 6 and by night 6+, When I stand for no more than 20 minutes I am hurting bad and if I try to walk for more than 30 minutes it gets worse. Sitting has recently started to hurt and the exhaustion makes me feel awful. Laying down helps more than anything , if I keep changing positions. I have osteoarthritis in both knees rt worse and in most of my finger joints. Had a cortisone injection in rt knee.
