Cosgringo (long story on that screen name) say heyllo!
Just got my anterior lumbar L5S1 graft / spacer, and well other junk done about one month ago.
Looking for good detailed information from those that have been down this road and know.
I've been to a lot of other forums and have had some luck but just found this forum simply dedicated to this cause, it appears.
AWESOME and thanks!
Lots going on. A job that will be laying me off when I come back from disability. Yep, it will. I know the inside scoop and it goes beyond my illness as I am more of an IT guy.
Meds have been hit or miss over a long time.
Pushed for the surgery after almost 2 years as percocets were not helping anymore. I live in CO and I am an outdoors person so that was not a solution for me.
Have a bit of an reliance on the meds and some booze as I tend to dwell on things I cannot affect.
My other post besides this one talks to that.
I hope to be better in the months to come. I really would like/need to have my outdoors freedom back like backpacking, hiking, very occasional rock climbing, and fun things like that. Had plenty of other hospital issues like kidney stones and things so those visits don't phase me too much except my wallet.
I look forward to reading your posts as I have not yet but I was desperate to post as I am having what seem to be breathing issues. Can't do the hospital, long post and you''ll get it if you read it.
I just want to say thank you and I wish you all the best. This is no fund. I've been thru pain but this is a dooz (sp?). People don't get it. When you do tell them it's spine surgery they figure you are done with.
I've got my issues but not giving up. Shoot, should have been gone a long time ago.
I hope most of you are positive when it's doable of course. I hope the best for all of you though I don't know you. I know this medical issue(s) is pitiful and takes a lot out of one.
Please stay in there and if there's something I can speak to, please ping me. I came here asking but there are a lot of things I do know about whether medical or in some other association.
Take care the best you can and I look forward to meeting with you all!
If at first you don't succeed, hide your astonishment.
