Does pain induce spasms?

I am wondering if pain from my C4-7 can induce spasms and why does it? I have a history of muscle spasms and fibro as well now as this neck issue (getting MRi soon to diagnose specific issue). Since this pain started 3 months ago down my left and right arm I have been experiencing muscle spasms that last up to a week! What can I do? I'm on meloxicam, Baclofen, tramadol, cymbalta and Lyrica. I am using tiger balm, heating pad, seeing a chiropractor for acupressure as well.

I do not know..but it does happen to me. From my experience..I can't tell if it's from the pain or anxiety...because I do know that almost without failure I will struggle with spasms if with more than couple of people getting together..even if I know everyone.
Or if I'm trying so much to keep pain in check I tense up and spasms show up. But then again they can show up for no apparent reason. So I don't know but I'm in it with you :)
