Well, so far, so good following my L4-5 microdiscectomy on June 25. I've settled into a rhythm of walking 5 or 6 times a day for about 10-20 min interspersed with LOTS of sleeping and lying around in bed surfing the net. I don't know what I'd do without my laptop and wireless network. Haven't needed the Demerol or Tylenol 3s much since the first couple of days, since incision pain is pretty minimal. I still have some minor muscle stiffness on the right leg/hip but no pain at all on the left side anywhere, which I am very happy with so far. I'm optimistic at this point but I realize it's really early and I'm sure there are more trials ahead. Just gotta remember to REST and take it easy, which will be hard because tomorrow is Canada Day and I'm invited to 3 parties. I think I'll have a party with myself and my new painfree life!
