I wanted to start out this topic about Deep Tissue Massage. It is basically one of a kind and is far different from the normal United States flavours of Massage therapy. This specific technique originated in Thailand and has been passed down through generations.
It is an extremely aggressive and painful procedure, but it works at making those deep muscles so much more flexible, which in turn can reduce a lot of stress and pain.
Warning: It is NOT a relaxing massage, such as Swedish massages. The first time I had the Deep Tissue Massage, I Cried, my eyes were running, my nose was running, I was yelling and screaming, I was holding my breath... Now, 6 months after my first session, I still am in pain while the session is going on, but my crying is minimal now.

Why get a Deep Tissue Massage?

A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.
What is the purpose of Deep Tissue Massage?
The purpose is to "unstick" the fibers of a muscle while releasing deeply-held patterns of tension, removing toxins, while relaxing and soothing the muscle. It is both corrective and therapeutic.
