I am set to have my SCS trial on 1/20, I found out yesterday that I will be having one from St Jude, which is ok but I was told to research Medtronic and Boston Scientific and was hoping for Medtronic because of their abilty to still have an MRI. I'm ok with having the St Jude system but as I haven't done the research I dont know if they have a mri safe system or if theirs will affect my daily headaches. I am sure that it is because of my insurance that this system was chosen but I am still searching for answers. If anyone has experience with this system and can give advise that would be great.

  • I just got one and am currently on trial. My surgery was 1/7/15 for the trial implant.

I am not sure what question you have but I can tell you it really has helped me, but the post op pain is not a fun time.
  • 1. Does this company have a mri safe model?
    2. How will this affect headaches, I have severe migraines and everytime I've had to get an LP I have ended up with a spinal headache, and I don't want that constanly?
    3. Did ur dr say anything about what would possibly happen mext if this doesn't work?
I'm glad tohear that it is working for u though. I hope it works for me.
