Hello! I am 54 years old and am facing my first spine surgery in one week. I found this website a few months ago and have been reading through all the many posts. Thank you to everyone who has shared their surgical experiences and also tips for how to prepare for surgery and recovery at home. Those have been very helpful! I have gleaned from most of the posts that recovery is an individual experience that involves so many different factors that it is difficult for anyone to predict how long, what kind of pain and when you will get back to normal. I appreciate your honesty and look forward to being on the other side of this!
