Hey everyone, I know I got a herniated disc in 8th grade after lifting an adult up in the pool. In high school, weight lifting would sometimes make it worse and when I would bring up pain the coaches would just find an excuse to mock or yell at me about it. There were days in high school I couldnt walk and had to leave school early. My doctors wouldn't give me an mri thinking I was too young I guess. I went to an orthopedic my senior year and he also wouldn't give me an mri.
It took until this year when I was 21, for some of my toes to turn black and blue from nerve damage for my doctor to take me serious. I got an mri and it came out a L5-S1 herniated disc and a pinched nerve. Then within the last year my stream of urine wasn't coming out right and I didn't think much of it until one day it felt like I had a full bladder, but only a few drops and blood would come out. I was referred to a urologist and after several test he says he's almost 100% sure it's my compressed nerve causing this and I need it fixed asap. The pinched nerve affecting my prostate caused prostatitis.
I was wondering if anyone here had this problem? To where their nerve damage got bad enough to effect your urine flow and prostate? Were you required to have surgery after that? I'm seriously almost fed up and had thoughts about not letting myself live anymore, but I want to try a surgery to see if this will fix me up. I tried an epidural shot and that only gave a few weeks of minor relief. And for anyone saying ending your life early is selfish I just believe what's the point when youre not enjoying life. And when youre only causing family more of a hassle needing assistance and can barely work for my father's business because of sciatica and lower back pain. I'm scheduled for another mri and a emg soon. Will an emg show how severe my nerve damage is? Thanks guys any help will be highly appreciated!
