Im 27 and had been struggling with the sharp pains from siatica, for 3 months Doctors gave me nerve medication, it worked temporarily. On a Monday i wasn't able to stand up after picking something off the floor. I went to the ER got a shot of pain med and was sent home. Come Wednesday my entire right leg was numb (as if it were dead). I went to my regular doctor she noticed it wad bad and sent me to a specialist. I went right after to the specialist, he took a look and noticed i had no strength left in my right leg and foot. The herniated disk pinch off my nerves completely. I was rushed to a larger hospitals ER and was scheduled for emergency surgery to remove part of the disk and bone. I now have no pain but my leg and foot are still numb and extremely weak. Im in Physical therapy but im not satisfied with the lach of concern. Im looking for help and tips to get back the use of my leg. Also hoping damage isnt permanent. Please help.

  • Hi I have had leg numbness since my last surgery in 2011. Recently I have had to use a cane because sometimes my foot will drop and my knee will give out and I have fallen 3 times this week. I take 1800 mg of gabapentin a day and 60 mg of oxycodone a day to control my symptoms. My condition has not improved since 2011. Is there anything I can do?
