Twisty Curvy

Hi folks. My name is Greg and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I am 40 and have been dealing with back pain few many years. I suffered with a pilonidal cyst on my tailbone for many years before it was finally removed surgically more than 10 years ago. The damage caused by the cyst and all the ways I twisted and turned to accommodate it has resulted in a few different back problems. I have facet syndrome in my lower back. My lumbar region is curved must more than it should be, while my upper back is almost straight as a board front to back, but with major curvature from side to side. My neck is completely straight, no curve at all.

My chiro has been working on me for a about a year, and I'm starting to see some improvements in my upper back and neck, but my lower back is still problematic. It doesn't help that I work in an office and stare at a computer all day, but I try to get out running as much as I can. I train for races and have competed quite a bit in the past two years. I'm currently preparing for a 10K race in February ... although my back has been hampering my running lately making it harder to train.

I look forward to sharing and hearing your advice on how to live better with these issues.
