I thought I'd start off early as I'm bored having been off work since September!
I'm 45M and due to have a TLIF fusion at L4-5 on Thursday 5th March. I'm currently surviving on 160mgs of morphine per day in order to be able to stand up for more than 10 minutes.
My pain is in both hips, lower back and thighs and down my left leg. I have numb toes in my left foot.
I need the surgery in order to be able to stand up and still for much longer. Then I can return to work.
I'm a little nervous about being one of the 5% that goes wrong, but I have one of the best and most experienced lumbar spine surgeons in the UK doing the honours so I should be ok.
Would be great to share.
