In advance, thank you all for your time and feedback. I am still currently researching the forums for questions similar to my own. But in the even to streamline my research, ill post my question.
I had surgery on Jan 16 2015, at the C4-5 and C3-4 levels. Currently I am very lethargic. Attempting to take a shower all but wipes me out. I have lost the use of my voice. Attempting to project my voice cause my neck and surrounding nerves to vibrate and just flair up. I am also using a cane around the house, just as fail safe. Around the house I feel ok without it, but when i leave the house to get the mail, Its right by my side.
I guess I am a little surprised by all this. My surgeon gave me the impression I'd be "back to normal" in a few days. He even went as far as to seem surprised I was experiencing some of the above mention issues. I bought into his hype and thought after about 3 days, I'd be back to normal. A week later, I can see that wont be the case at ALL.
My question for those whom have had a similar surgery, did any of the above problems happen for you? In particular, the lack of energy and voice issues. Or did you go into this surgery thinking it'd be a quick fix, and caught off guard by the healing process.
I will be the first to say, I guess bought into my surgeons swagger, that this was as simple as pulling a tooth. But it was a major spine surgery and even if someone people swear they were better in 3 days, everyone heals at their same course.
Also to keep pain at bay I am taking Norcos every 4 hours on a schedule to keep the pain down. I'll see my pain mgmt doctor and surgeon this week. So ill def raise my concerns with them. But just what I've seen from this community everyone is so helpful and I'd thought I'd give it a chance here. Many of the discussions here helped me make the choice to have this procedure, so to many of you who have a healthy dialogue on the forum, my sincere thanks.
