numbness in my face, I need some advice

I am a 44-year-old female, and having problems with numbness on the right or left side of my face but not all at the same time. You know when you go to a dentist and they give you Novocain how your mouth and tongue feel including the roof of your mouth? That is how my face feels sometimes. It also includes from the roof of my mouth down some of the back of my throat that weird numb feeling.

Once I feel this in my face, depending on which side it is, it radiates down my arm into the very tips of my fingers with that numb feeling. I have been tested my heart is fine, my blood pressure is fine, and not any, medications. There is no nerve damage in my neck or spine. Does anyone else have this problem? if so please tell me, my doctor keeps telling me exercise your,, neck roll your neck, blah blah blah. This has been going on for over a year and it is really becoming a pain in my ass! Well face.

If you have or had any of these symptoms or feelings please let me know what happened and who you talk to and what they said.

Even though their may be details left of that sounds unacceptable to be seeing a doctor with same symptom for over a year and their is no diagnosis or you have not been referred to a specialist or other doctor and the best advice is exercise more. By your post I would think you may want to find a new doctor. What kind of doctor are you seeing ? What is he saying is the cause ? Neurologist may be able to give you a better view on some of that stuff
Do your due dilegence, trust you know your body and question everything if it does not fit. Advocate for yourself and you will be suprised what will be revealed trusting your body and instinct.

I get tingling on my face & scalp all on the right side. No numbness, just tingling, I just attribute it to cervical issues, its been going on for a few years now. It's not constant, just happens every so often.

I agree, if it's causing you a lot of problems and you are concerned ask to see a neurologist.
  • Hi, I have nerve pains on my face and down Left side of neck, feeling of dryness/pain at back of tongue Lt side. Sounds like you need to see a Neuro Spec for MRI / Ct Scan. Also, if there is a problem there, rolling your neck may aggravate it. Hope you find the problem so you can get it sorted. Have a nice day.
