spinal stimulator pain therapy

Hi I'm due to have a spinal stimulator inserted but I have heard some nightmare stories about this procedure I spend every day in pain.I suffer from fybromalgia and have had a failed knee replacement from which I have to wear a permanent knee brace as my knee joint twisted prior to surgery resulting with movement in the new knee causing severe pain. My other knee has now suffered the impact of wear and tear while waiting on a new knee for 4 years I'm in agony when I walk and the new surgeon has told me I need another knee replacement but has refused to do it until the other surgeon that done the other knee reconstructs the failed one, but that surgeon won't do it as I contacted mrsa after the removal of a bakers cyst on that particular leg, so I've been left in limbo land with the option of the spinal stimulator but I'm really scared to go through with it and my family are totally against it but I've asked them to spend just one day living my life and they would understand why I'm contemplating having this procedure done . Please help. ...Mary
