5 Month Post Microdisectomy Sudden Numbness While Sitting

Hey guys,

So I had a microdiscectomy about 5 months ago and it was very successful. Even up until this point I have had very little pain. However, for the past week whenever I sit down or lay down on my back I have a numbness/ache in my big toe that slowly builds up but seems to disappear when I stand up. I am very nervous because I am a college basketball player and have a shot at the pros, foot drop is one of my worst fears. I just want to know if anyone has experienced this. Also the numbness FEELS as though it is slowly moving up my leg, I could be over thinking this though.

Was surgury in the low back ? Have you spoken to your doctor about the issue ?
Do your due dilegence, trust you know your body and question everything if it does not fit. Advocate for yourself and you will be suprised what will be revealed trusting your body and instinct.

Yes, The surgery was on the L4L5 disc. I have been painless but now sometimes I get numbness and pain in and around my big toe. I called my doctor and he said don't worry about it because it is probably scar tissue. I just dont understand how scar tissue can suddenly start causing pain 5 months post-op.
