I'm so thankful that I've found this place, not only as a resource, but as a support system as well.

A little about me: 38/F, fairly active lifestyle with school and family. I had a PLIF almost two years ago at L5-S1 and unfortunately due to an accident I'm now going in for an ALIF with hardware revision. I have a medical background and I have to say I am not looking forward to this surgery at all, so having someone who understands what I'm going through (the good/bad days with the ups and downs that are experienced) would be very beneficial to my overall healing process.

What didn't you like about the dr? Things she said (hard to hear) or her bedside manner? Oftentimes best surgeons lack "bedside" manner. Choose the surgeon, like I did, with the best ratings, and that's maybe performed the most successful number of procedures. I had a list of questions for him as if I was interviewing him. "Any pending litigation against you?" "How many have you done on your career?" "What is your success rate?" Ultimately you must be comfortable with their skills, not their personality, in my opinion.

I'm a 39 year old marathoner who had c5-c6 two weeks ago today 1/20/2015. Walking very next day. Ask me anything!
