Neck pain that can't get away

Hello I am new to this site. I am a 20 year old male ex-football player ( which may or may not be important with this injury ). I have this pain since I am about 16 years old and I can't get it away.

I am always in the need to crack my it may be in any direction sideways, back and forth. Anytime my neck is not lying down I sense this lingering pain that is always there. But when I lie down I can sense the pain but doesn't affect me a lot. I think maybe I am missing muscle around this part of my neck and I need to compensate by always cracking my neck.

Thanks for the help In advance :)

  • Ask for an Xray. Proceed to an MRI. It could be something serious from football and you need to investigate more. I'd hate to see it turn into a bigger problem years down the road. And you wouldn't be the first to wait that long!

    Keep us posted.

Realize that FEAR is our worst enemy. Get up & get out in that stormy weather of the real world & kick fear in the teeth. Stare at it dead in the eyes & walk right through it into the storm; because once you're wet, you won’t fear the rain anymore
  • Thank you and yes I will try to check if I can get and MRI
