Inflammation Medication

Hi Everyone
I have stomach problems for a number of reasons including medications.
I know a lot of you deal with that too so I was wondering if you had some
advice. My Doctor of course will make the final decision but I value your
I need to take a inflammatory medication for my lower back etc. pain
and have tried several but had a lot of stomach issues from them.
Any input would be appreciated a lot.
Hope and pray you are having a quiet pain day.

  • I used to get Diclofenac patches from the pain clinic. I had 'samples' so I never had to pay for them. I've been told they're expensive but if you're doc is willing to prescribe it could be worth checking with your insurance. I never found them as effective as oral meds but something's better than nothing ;-)

    Hi There
I will check those out and appreciate your help for sure.
  • I have a friend who swears by Traumeel, a homeopathic anti inflammatory. He's had several hip surgeries & can't stomach a lot of traditional medications. It's off the shelf (well here in Aus) & I bought it at the pharmacy.
I currently take celebrex & thought I'd give the Traumeel a go. It worked, not as well but I did notice a difference opposed to taking nothing.

  • Thanks so much for the suggestions and I am going to check into
the creams for sure. I would give anything a try at this point to
bring the pain level down even a little.
Celebrex has helped so many but I had a major reaction to it plus
many others. I am one of those weird ones that react to so many
Hope you both are doing as well as possible and thanks again for your help.
  • I have stomach problems & inflammation too. I had a lot of internal bleeding a couple years ago, due to the NSAIDS I was taking for pain and inflammation. So much bleeding that I was giving a blood transfusion. A few months ago, I was having above normal inflammation, I asked my dr about volatran gel, I didn't know it had NSAIDS in it, he suggested I try Ketamine cream instead. I love it, helps a lot. Maybe you could talk to your dr about this. May be something that could help you.
  • Thanks that is exactly what happened with me I can't take any of the NSAIDs now, but not the internal
bleeding part. I hope you never have to go through that again.
I will ask my Doc. about that cream cause actually I think I used it
on my hands a few years back.
    Thanks so much
