Sleeping on Floor for Lumbar Herniated Disc

Hey everyone,

Brief background- I'm 21 years old, and have a herniated disc in my lumbar region (L4-L5) for a little over 2 years now. I've been dealing with pain the entire time, and have been attempting to refrain from surgery due to the possible setbacks for my age.

My mattress doesn't seem to be the perfect fit form, sometimes I wake up with back pain, and sometimes I don't.
Does anyone have experience with sleeping on the floor with this kind of problem? I believe I've read somewhere that it could help, but I wanted to know if anyone has had, or knows anyone who has experience with trying this out.

Thanks for the help
