Weire Hip pain symptoms

Hello,

After trolling for like problems, I thought I'd post.

I'm 61 year old male with a beat up spine (DDD) and for the last 6 weeks or so, I've been plagued by outer him, upper glute, lower abdomen, and groin pain, even radiating into the left testes.

What originally brought these symptoms on was I believe missionary position during sex and being a plank like position for extended periods of time with my now EX GF. I didn't quit because of lack of sex.

I went to my Rheumo and on 1/9 and he gave me cortisone shot in L2, 4, and L5 plane on left side of back, but it didn't touch the hip pain.

I then recently saw a very well know neurosurgeon who only consults, he examined and felt it is an L1 never root problem. Put me on Prednisone and did an MRI and results weren't pretty.

He gave me some home exercises for stretching back and also a PT order.

Anyway, I started doing exercised and pulling knee to chest on left side is tolerable but I feel like it's swollen in there. Same with pulling both knees.

I have a good PT and she said it could be the back causing it but the episodes I described simply set something off. I started doing PT and it seems like more stuff hurts now than before because back is so tight.

I consulted with a Chiro/Fried who experienced similar symptoms and went for surgery. She waited too long and was critical at that time.

It just seems to me it's hard to believe if I don't have any pain right at the disc, it could be the disc.

Since I've done the exercises, I seem to have additional sensations on outer shins now.???

Anyway, I'm hoping the doc (highly highly rated) can give me some idea. Maybe a left hip MRI is also in order?Or would the lumbar MRI show the hip area? I haven't seen it myself.

I happened to see an article written by a Chiro regarding pinched Femoral nerve. Could it be that?

I'm a side sleeper and can't sleep on my right side cus outer left hip hurts and if I bend that leg up like I usually do, it's spasm city. I mean BIG time. Also the upper glute. I tried HEAT. NOT a good idea. Felt fine until I tried to get up. Excruciating pain.

If I sit or squat, it totally aggravates the hip joint area along the groin and to outer hip, right along the waistline. I'm very concerned of course. Any thoughts?

    Hi Zork52
So so sorry you are going through this.
It was about 3 months ago my lower back, buttock, hip, groin and top of left leg
started to hurt and was so so tender to the touch. I have pain my lower back but
nothing like this. I cannot even stand to touch those areas and to wear anything
that presses on my waist. It aches and burns and is the honestly the worst yet
for me. I cannot do anything I still do some stuff but it is very limited. Heat does not
help in fact when I put heat there it throbs a deep pain in my hip and butt.
Sleep amounts to 2 to 3 hrs a night and when I wake up I want to scream.
We sound like we have the exact kind of problems and mine started to get
worse from baking cookies the leaning over into the oven on my life side.
I wish it was sex that did it Ha Ha.
I am sorry beyond words that you are going through this and if you find
any relief please keep in touch with me and I will you too. I had an MRI and
X-rays of those areas waiting for the Doctor to call.
This pain is not under control for me I am a mess but do have an apt. with
the Doc. on Friday and am in Therapy at this time.
Hang in there and remember if you learn anything about it post to me and I
    will you.
I wish I could of helped us both.
