I had surgery on my lumbar spine on 9/17/14, after injuring my back on 10/11/13, I had a L4-5 microdiscectomy amd foraminotomy. I had issues with pain control following surgery and ended up in recovery for 6hrs, anyway, I did all of the PT and even had two additional epidural injections but couldn't seem to get my pain any better controlled and I felt as though I was back to where I was before surgery. I had another MRI which showed I did still have some damage at the surgical level as well as scarring and damage above and below, but my doctor didn't feel i was showing significant nerve compression to go back in since the first time was "unsuccessful", he then reccommended that I try a SCS. I have completed the trial and I am meeting with my surgeon Friday to schedule the Implant surgery. My major concern is that I am havng a sharp increase in my back pain, as well as numbness in my right hip amd grion which is new. At first I thought the numbness was due to me being hospitalized for migraines about 2-3wks ago, but it hasn't subsided and seems worse. I plan to bring this up on Friday. As for pain I am currently taking 30mg MS Contin q12h, 2mg Dilaudid q6h(which isn't really lasting), and 4mg Tizanidine q12h. I also take 1800mg Gabapentin q12h and celebrex 200mg in the morning. Any thoughts or advice would be great I'm starting to get more concerned.
