I am a 46 year old relatively healthy male that has been experiencing back pain in my L4/L5. The original diagnosis was Discitis based on MRI/MRI with contrast. I do not have any of the other traditional Discitis symptoms (i.e. elevated blood work, fever, chills etc). after a biopsy of the disc they eventually treated with 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. After taking the antibiotics i did not feel any relief and just recently got a new MRI that is showing my disc has not improved. They are now recommending disc survey. One doctor uses a procedure from Nuvasive called MAS TLIF the other doctor (old school) utilizes the TLIF procedure. I am looking for experiences with both and any research that has been done to help me with my decision. I am grateful for this website and sure would welcome any input.
