Im a 24 yr old mom with terrible chronic back pain! Ive been to three different surgeons wanting different opinions but they all say the same thing. My lower back and sciatica pain is not going to get any better, that Ive exhausted every other option and its time for surgery. I have degenerative disc disease, herniated discs two bulging discs, and isthmic spondylolisthesis. Im tired of the chronic pain and my pain meds aren't helping that much. Anyone have any suggestions or just want to talk please get back to me.

I know you are exhausted with the pain and having child(ren). Hope you have hands on support system. If not you may want to build that up. I hesitated to ask for help and then I discovered resources out there to help me...and sometimes people just need to know what they can do. My biggest weakness is the vacuuming . My place is small so when I have asked and my friend happily did it in ten minutes. I never could move that fast and when I do vacuum ...I pay for it next day or two..pain.

I Not sure on you say doctors say you will not get better.....but your three different surgeons said surgery will take away pain?
You say you pain meds not too effective. Are they from primary doc or pain management?

I never had surgery but I'm sure people here can relate to,that..especially when you post on you choice if pain forum.

Sorry you are hurting....but glad you are here!
    Good luck!

  • I have no kids and cannot imagine how you do it. Why exactly did they say you will never be able to get better? There are lots of options out there. What have you tried so far?
