Can someone please post a link to some good Lumbar exercises? Thank you.

  • Thank you!

It's difficult for me to get down on the floor and up again because of my back and because of a bad knee, are there any exercises that I could do without getting down onto the floor?
  • Brandi, have you consulted with your doctor yet? In general, I wouldn't recommend starting an exersize program without first doing that.

With that said, it might be a good idea for you to post your diagnosis. Exersizes good for one diagnosis might make another's condition worse when doing them. I would hate to see you get the wrong advise for your situation.

You did say you can't get down onto the floor well. Have you got an exersize ball? There are some lumbar exersizes you can do while sitting on the ball. Also, you might try buying a ball (about $20) an sitting on that instead of the couch while watching TV or at work. Good way to build core muscles.

    Good luck!

  • There are some gentle core strenghtening exercises you can do lying in bed. I can give you a few that helped me at my worst time. Pleae ask your doc if its ok to start and let me know...I can copy them and e-mail it to you.
  • Hi Brandi,
Tammy and Anna are RIGHT.You can't ask around for exercises.
Your doc should decide when and what level of PT to start. Don't get me wrong.Nobody knows your condition. If I give you my exercises you might end up in more pain.PT could be a double edged knife. The most beneficial way to do it is under professional supervision.
Good luck and I hope you feel better.
