I'm in the hospital right now. I woke up one day and fell several times from lack of balance and weakness. After almost a,month confined to bed I found a neurosurgeon. I was ill and came to the hospital last Wednesday and had a fever of 103 and had a seizure. I got surgery tuesday to remove a large portion of the l4 disc that was extruded into the sciatic nerve. It went well but I waited too long and my nerves are having a hard time coping. I have a catheter in because I am not feeling my bladder well. I also got an infection. I can't feel my bowels for the most part and have little to no fine sensation I in my legs. I can still move them and feel pressure but there is a good deal of tingling and numbness. The dr said the nerve is intact, it just needs time to cope. Anyone else had similar pproblems or surgery? Did you have nerve problems? Did you find anything that helped?
