Well, I am new at this. I had filed last year in April, 2014 for disability due to the fact that I was having pain in my lower back and pain in my left leg with numbness and a burning feeling in my right thigh. I went to the hospital were they did x-rays and they said that I had degenerative disk disease and sciatica. The doctor at the hospital sent me to a neurosurgeon and he had me have an mri done. It showed that my spine was damaged and I had to have surgery done. The doctor did a spinal fusion on my l5-s1 and I have screws and rods holding my spine in place. I am 37 years old and have never been through this before but I must say this is hard. I stil have pain in my right thigh, I can't stand for to long or sit for to long, I don't take long car rides, I only sleep on my left side because the pain near the incision and pain in my right thigh, and I get help with cleaning, cooking, laundry, and shopping. I can't lift nothing heavy. I was denied at the inital and reconsideratio. I have a lawyer and I am at hearing stage. He says I have a good case. But I am still worried. Is there hope for me.
