Lumbar Back pain

Hi, guys! I was wondering if anybody has had this problem and knows how to help the pain...I had a redo fusion of my lower back five weeks ago. The original fusion was done Aug. 2013, with no fusion at all that had taken place. They went in through my back again AND side. I'm doing fine except for one thing, I have a sharp burning poker pain on the left side of my incision that increases as the day goes on. Hot firey burning pain to the touch even! It doesn't seem to help much to take my meds. I take 800 mg of nuerotin three times a day, soma, as needed and 10 mg hydrocodone as needed. I'm popping pills like crazy! I feel as if I'm just sleeping all the time bc of all the meds I'm taking! Does anyone know what the problem could be? What could help the pain? AND If I'm looking at surgery again? This last surgery made my sixth spine surgery. My neck is fusing now, last surgery being a fusion, was July 2014. I seem to have a problem with bone not growing in the fusion sites, why is that? I take vitamins and calcium with vit. D everyday. I'm only 44! Too young to be falling apart!
