ozone injections?

Has anyone ehre tried ozone oxygen injections? apparently they can shrink the herniations?

  • Never what is it ??
    2005-ACDF with Corpectomy at C3-C-5.
    2006-L4-L5 diskectomy.
    2009-Cervical laminectomy at C3.
    Steroid injections series x 4.
  • hard to explain. type oxygen and ozone injections into google. they seem promising!
  • I live in SoCal, and am thinking of doing the procedure in Tijuana. I've asked doctors in the US but its seems odd to me they know little to nothing about it, when studies from Italy, Germany, and Spain have all shown good results.

Based on what I read is basically it seems it will dry up what ever fluid you might have left in the disc, to make them shrink. They should shrink about 2-15% there by causing it to stop pinching the nerve.

However if the fluid is dried up, does that mean my disc can never heal again even in the future with stem cell injections?

@formerweightlifter please pm me if you find anything or post here.

I know people who tried and is very happy with results.
    No contraindications.
Nevertheless, I’m still investigating if the ozone therapy is not recommendable when spondylotic myelopathy is also present (not only disc herniation). In fact this is my case: I have a severe asymptomatic cervical spondylotic myelopathy and the herniated disc is making a strong pressure on the spinal cord at C4-C5. I should like to try the ozone therapy in a first instance, before going to surgery when symptoms onset, but I’m still investigating if it has some contraindication to my specific situation.

    Here's my experience:
I have disc herniation at L4/L5 level and it is pinching the sciatica nerve, which is causing severe pain in my right leg. Consulted a spine specialist, who recommended ozone injection. Basically, they suck out 10%, approx, of the gel sort of material from the center of the disc to create some space first and then inject the ozone gas. This causes the disc to shrink, as ozone react with water in the disc (a disc is 85% water plus some chemicals) and thereby reducing the pressure on the nerve. Though it sounds promising but i am still skeptical about it. Hence, started ayurvedic treatment about a month back (as medicines and physiotherapy was a waste of time in my case) and feeling better, so thinking of giving it some more weeks.
Will post the update, if i will choose to go for ozone
