Please help me understand Lumbar Spine MRI results

Your MRI showed:1. Multilevel degenerative disc change with marked spinal canal stenosis at L4-L5 with an AP dimension of thecal sac of 7 mm. Focal protrusion at this level appears to abut the left L5 nerve root. 2. Multilevel neural foraminal narrowing, worst at L4-L5 where it is marked marked on the right and marked on the left. I am sending you a medicine to block the nerve pain, which is gabapentin. Patient should take 200 mg of gabapentin at bedtime to block the nerve pain. Continue the nsaids and muscle relaxers. Orthopedics has already scheduled you to be seen.

  • Your doctor didn't tell you anything?? Take the prescribed drugs as directed. The gabapertin blocks nerve pain. It's best your orthopedic doctor reads the results. What symptoms do you have???
    2005-ACDF with Corpectomy at C3-C-5.
    2006-L4-L5 diskectomy.
    2009-Cervical laminectomy at C3.
